My Cat Took My iPad!
What I had purchased as a work tool, something that I could carry with me, turned out to be an electronic companion, that stays home on the bed, that the cat sleeps on. It would take me hours to explain exactly how much my cat Gator loves this ipad, so I will summarize.
Last year I found a great app called "Game for Cats". I installed it on the ipad, thinking it was sooo cute! There are 3 different cat games, and when the screen is touched the game interacts. The butterfly game tweets, the mouse squeaks and the dot pings.
Well my "Gator" became so enthralled with this game, that I couldn't take the iPad out of the house. Gator would wait for me (it) by the door and howl and jump around my feet until I gave it to him. If the cover on the iPad is closed, Gator stands on it trying to open it with his paws. He gets just so excited, tossing and turning on top of it, or just staring at it. He even sleeps on it.
Now.... I wanted to get the new mini. When I purchased this iPad, I purchased the trade up option. Problem is, would Gator like the mini? And....once I do get the mini, it will be so easy to carry in my purse, that I intend to take it with me. So.....what I did was get the mini, and kept the older iPad for Gator. He is going to share it with my husband, who doesn't need to take it out of the house.
It is quite amazing how Gator really misses it when it is not in the house. I had been away for a few days, (with the iPad) and when I came home and walked in the door....he was so excited, and I thought he was excited to see me. While he very well may have been happy that I was home, he was MUCH happier that the iPad was home! I heard him scratching the cover of the iPad all night. He wouldn't leave it's side!
I have countless pictures with Gator and his iPad. Laying on it, jumping on it, sleeping on it, etc. I wonder how many others have had the same reaction from their cats? Would love to hear about it, if you have!
