Wednesday marks the beginning of a New Year, but lets not forget, it is still a good time to purchase a home. Will you be able to move in by the first, probably (read not going to happen) not. That doesn't change the facts that it is a good reason to purchase. Rates are still low, there are some great options available (at least in our area), and there isn't a lot of competition for the homes that are out there.
Here in our area, there is a lot of snow, (not as much as there is in some areas of the country, but still a lot), don't let that get you down. The snow makes it that much more difficult to see rooftops, sprinkler system, landscaping, etc. The answer to that is a good qualified home inspector! If you're unsure about the landscape, most of it can be changed into something that you like anyway.
The large trees, shrubs and any hardscaping(decks, patios, pools fountains, etc.) are visible even with the snow, the grass is something that you may not like anyway. The point is, don't put off buying a house just because it is cold outside, there may be just the house you're looking for just sitting there waiting for someone to purchase it!
There is still time, there is always hope!
