Bad Listing Photos

Earlier today I enjoyed Lanette Branch's series of posts on bad listing photos.  I was pretty sure I could find a few of them myself, and YEP, I sure did!

First, two versions of Lanette's "Where's the House":

Where's The House     Where's The House

Is this house blindfolded?                                       Behind the car, the garage and the tree, I see a house.

Where's the Floor?     Selling the Kid?

The carpet must be AWFUL to show this much ceiling.                  We aren't selling the kids, are we?

Eeek!     SLANT

Seriously, unretouched.                                    "Slip Sliding Away, Slip Sliding Awaaaaaay!"

Straighten, Please!     Dark

How hard would this be to turn?                                  Embracing the Twilight ... and getting it wrong.

Additional pet peeves: only one pictures for a listing and having the listing agent's purse sitting on the kitchen cabinet in the photos.  Good pictures really do matter!

Sarah -

My kids are wondering what I am laughing about... Anyway, the tilting photo is too funny - the tv cart is even lopsided!  The sideways photos drive me crazy.  I've seen far too many like that one.

Great nod to Aaron, too. I thought flash came standard nowadays...

Sometimes you wonder if the agents are lazy or don't they realize that people use the photos to eliminate homes

Isn't it a shame that we can go into the MLS on any given day and see stuff like this? And, just like James noted, it usually causes us to cross that one off our list...

Your comments are hilarious, Sarah!

And agents expect these to sell.....??  To be honest, I have seen some awful pictures, although not quite as bad as these, on MLS.  Aren't there services that take these pictures?  Do they not say anything to the listing agent?

Those are too funny!!  I had a client just recently send me a listing so I can see how messy this home was.  It is incredible that people put their house on the market looking the way some of them do but it is even more incredible that the real estate agent takes a picture of the  mess.

Sarah, "one" picture is my pet peeve as well. But what about the ones that's show only pictures of the inside and none of the outside? Do they not want us to see what it looks like?

"Kimberley" the tilting photo looks like when you go on vacation and for miles you see signs on the road that there is a gravity defying home ahead!

Or pics of the outside, but none of the inside!  Incredible.

I have seen my share of bad ones too, with one of a cow not 5 feet away from the shot of the field, toilet shots, and pics that must have been taken with a .05 megapixel camera. Unreal what some agents do just to have a picture up. Give a little effort already!
