It pays to shop for carpet prices when preparing a home for sale

The cost of replacement carpet is usually a major expense for home owners as they prepare their home to be marketed for sale. It does pay to do a little shopping to find the satisfactory combination of price and the quality of the carpet and pad.

Today, we received this price from a local flooring company. The January price is $1.50 per square foot for carpet and upgraded pad, including the installation. This company, of course, is trying to develop continuing relationships for referrals from real estate professionals.

Good morning, I look forward to seeing the gorgeous pictures from you and Delores!

Shopping for carpet is a big investment and we need to sure what to look for in a carpet, including buying something that is durable.

I used to love plush carpet, but found it was hard to keep looking good without vacuuming everyday!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND DELORE

Roy,

I think that is a great price now of course I have not seen the carpet quality. Replacing carpeting before listing a home in many cases is a good idea.

Hi Roy, Yes, very important to shop and to compare the price of new carpet with the price of installing new hardwood floors-which will add more value ultimately?

I find more and more people would like a flooring credit rather than new carpet since they have every intention of getting rid of the carpet as soon as possible.
