Ma'alaea Mermaid is a 4-story, fee-simple, oceanfront condominium complex with 39 units built in 1980. Although the building sits perpendicular to the ocean, the unique angled room layout offers quite nice ocean views for many. Four units at the ocean end of the building offer head-on ocean views. The first first floor of the building is used for covered parking and a convenient general store. The Mermaid is adjacent to the Ma'alaea Harbor with its picturesque boats bobbing in the protected harbor waters. Unlike other nearby condos, the Mermaid does not have a pool or BBQ area and does not allow vacation rentals.
Mermaid units are mostly 1 bedroom and 1 or 1.5 baths ranging in size from 648 sq. ft. to 894 sq. ft. of living area. There are two larger 2-story units on the ocean end with 2 bedrooms and with over 1100 sq. ft. of living area. The entire ocean wing features unique 2-story units combining the 3rd & 4th floors.
