For years I worked in new homes and at least a couple of days a week buyers would ask me if I knew the color in a particular room or where did we buy the furniture.
Sometimes as an onsite sales representive I was lucky enough to have a decorator log of colors. Even then the color could have been discontinued or the furniture was no longer sold etc. So I would watch people come back with paint swatches and or their painters to see if they could match the color.
