Winning the Lottery....You Sticking with that Plan?

Home Stager with Room Service Home Staging

Winning the sticking with that Plan?

The other day while having a pedicure (yes, I admit it, it is my one thing Ilottery ticket cannot give up), my friend/esthetician (Maria) and I were discussing the lottery.   What would we go out and buy or do if we won?

Come on….I know you’ve played the “What if” game! Maria said her sister  would buy 5 cars, while she would spend her winnings on shoes.  I’ve heard some say they would travel or buy a larger home. Many would make sure their children’s college was paid for.

Well, what if we removed  “winning the lottery” from the equation of getting what you want and looked at the things on our “if I won” list in a different light.

Why not add “YOU” into the equation of getting those things on the list?

You can set goals and take the steps needed to get those things you want.

take charge of your goals

We don’t have to wait to win the Powerball or any other lottery to get what we want.  Well…. we could, but we might be waiting an awfully long time.

Hi Kathy - my chances for winning in the game of lottery would be greatly enhanced by buying a ticket until then I'll stick with that old work thing while managing to be as productive and happy as I can make possible each day.

BARFF- wouldn't that be wonderful.... and besides, it would give her more opportunities to teach others her game of rummy.

Sheila- thank you.  I think those of us here know the value of goal setting and then acting on it but ah-h-h wouldn't it be nice to win!

BarbaraT- I'll never forget the first lottery in Florida 25+ years ago.  We all sat there with tickets in hand with the audacity to think we would most definitely win1

Michael- oh yes.... same thing that happens to some pro athletes.

Brenda- absolutely...we have the power to do that.

Gabe- I agree. We'll play for fun...maybe buying 1 ticket but never counting on it.

Janis- it's always fun to dream and to realize that should you win, you need to make sure you don't blow it all in a few years.

Joanna- who wouldn't want to win but you're right... I'd make sure that much was given  away.

Tom- can't hurt.  I know that some people don't believe in playingbut it's fun!

Raymond- it's fun to dreambut you have to come back down to earth and do what we do!

Roy- that's it in a nutshell.  Amass and save for now!

Noah- Oh for sure.  All of a sudden you have hands stretched out and open in front of you,.

Sharon- what?  Get a job???

BLiz- I'm all for the "squirrel" plan in life.  I think we spend about $4/month in lottery tickets.

Tom- absolutely.  We can dream about winningbut there are some "things" we want that we could actually get.  All we have to do is set the goals to get them ourselves.

Rob- yes, WE can be the winning lottery ticket.

Kristin- no, I cannotand you should try one!!!

Lenn- I'll go in 50 cents on a dollar ticket with you!!!

Michael- same here.  I don't want to depend on something that may or may not come around. I am a known entity.

Why in the name of all that is holy would you give up pedicures.  That said I always like a visual goal.  Winning the lottery is a fantasy that I like to play with.  Goals are no play things.  I think I feel a post brewing.

Liz-did I give you the starter mix for a post?  I would never give up pedicures, and I think it ought to be mandated that anyone, male or female, over the age of 60 have to have pedicures at least once a month!

Patty- wonder what's on your list??

Hi Kathy, it's good to just dream, winning the lottery is just that..a dream. I don't play it so chances of me winning to one is NONE. I have "ME" to make things happen!

Wait! What? Kathy, are you suggesting my retirement plan isn't practical? Well, I hate the thought of retirement in general, and it would take something like a winning ticket to make it appealing. There's lots of goals I can achieve, but small Pacific islands and Lamborghinis aren't on the list any other way. And somebody has to win, right?

Kathy-I've not been one to do bucket list or if I win this I'd do that. It does make sense to write goals and I do that but maybe I just don't have an imagination for what to do with that pot of gold. Buzzkill, I know.

Kathy, If I won the lottery I would have to manage all that money full time. It would be harder than selling real estate. The regular plan is in place to I best stick with it.

What a great post.  I cringe every time someone says "If I could just win the lottery....  Get out there and make life happen for you.  Don't sit around wishing and hoping...  Life will pass you by.
