Big Canoe "snow day"

By
Real Estate Agent with AllMountainRealty.com

Today is a snow day for some of us in Big Canoe. Now I know large parts of the country got clobbered by the winter storm, but here in Big Canoe we got a winter dusting of about 1 to 1and 1/2 inches. You may think no big deal but when you are 2500 feet up and the roads twist and are sloped it is a SNOW DAY !!

The winter weather is part of living in the North Georgia mountains but it is not really too bad . Here is why.

1 Yes it is cold today but already the sun is melting the snow and tomorrow the roads will be fine.

2 If you are lower elevations in Big Canoe say around 2000 feet and lower the woods are white but the black top is clear for the most part. ( I am above the snow line at 2500 feet or so.

3 It is absolutely beautiful out. My camera is in the office so sorry no pictures.

4 In Big Canoe we have our own EMS and public safety. So in the event of a problem the folks here are equipped to get to you.

Yes we have winter in the North Georgia mountains but is is no where near as severe or long lasting as else where.

If you are considering relocating think about the North Georgia Mountains. Big Canoe is one great destination. The folks here at All Mountain Realty live and work in our mountains and will work with you to find the right spot for your mountain home. Visit us on line at www.allmountainrealty.com . You can get a feel for what is around.

As for me today is a snow day. I am blogging here on ActiveRain and trying to keep one of my new years eve resolutions and be more involved in 2014 with the great folks that are here.

Charlie,

Sounds like your area has a handle on the weather situation. Love that everyone is so prepared.

Charlie~ I am glad you are not going to let the cold weather stop you from having fun & I for one don't blame you for going out and making it happen
