Good Post Suggestions From Non Bloggers

bloggingNot everyone is a blogger but everyone has experiences, knowledge and good ideas that can be shared.  Sometimes all you have to do is ask.

A few days ago I started a draft for a future blog post for one of my sites that will be about Opportunities for Socialization. Actually the tips will be good for anyone of any age who would like to meet new friends and meet on a regular basis with people to socialize and have a good time doing what one likes to do.

So I put together a pretty good list of tips of things to do to increase one's opportunities for socialization and then I did something I have not done before, that turned out pretty good. I posted on my Facebook account that I was doing a post about this subject and asked for their input. Well even though I have over 2,000 Facebook friend I was not expecting too much.  It did start out a little slow and the some of the suggestions were some of the ones I already had in my draft. But as I learned here on Active Rain I acknowledged each comment, repeated it and encouraged more suggestions.

Well the Facebook comment thread started growing with good ideas for socialization that I had not thought about or that once mentioned I knew they would be good ideas to include in my post. For my Facebook friends there is a payoff in reading all the good comments and for me it has really given me much better material for my blog post.

I know this may not work for all subjects but it sure did for this one. I know we are the experts people are looking to for the answers but sometimes it is a good idea to group source and see what ideas come up.

Back to my post about "Socialization Opportunities", if you have any suggestions (and I know you do) I would love to hear them as I am almost ready to do that post.

That's the power of social media.  Pretty much anything can be grown exponentially in a short period of time.  Comments lead to reposts and sharing....and then BOOM!  That's why I plan on greatly increasing the social media component of my marketing plan this year.  Good luck to you!

Very nice idea to get a collaboration going and input to use in your post. I should give that a try also.

Tg comments lead to reposts and sharing - that is a good observation. Debbie when I sit down to write my post I will have help.

There's nothing like brainstorming such an important topic. Loneliness and isolation is huge in the senior population.

Jill maybe that is why there was a very good response too.
