Trivia number 86

I want this to be information one just usually doesn’t hear.  If you have I would like to know if you haven’t all the better you’ve learned something today.  With that being said here is the information for you to consider today.

Earth’s greatest source of heat, besides the sun, is its interior, which conducts a hundred billion billion calories of energy to the surface each year—or 1.5 microcalories per .155 square inch of the earth’s surface each second. So much energy radiates from inside the Earth that it could satisfy all human energy needs three times over.  The last one for today is: Sharks don’t get cavities probably because they are constantly shedding teeth. Sharks have 40-45 teeth, with up to seven rows of replacement teeth behind them. When a front tooth breaks or falls out, it takes only about one day for a replacement tooth to move forward to the front row. Sharks can go through more than 30,000 teeth in a lifetime. Newer teeth are always larger, so sharks can look scarier as they age.

Now go out and tell the world of your new found knowledge.  Smile it will make people wonder what you’ve been up to.  Join us tomorrow for another journey into the wonderful world of Wordsmith.  Click on the link below.  Who knows you may learn something along the way and some of the words may even bring a smile to your face.

Hi James.  So that's why there are no shark dentists?

Hi James,

There have been sharks teeth found from millions of years ago. Many are huge compared to today's standards. I bet there would be no swimming in the oceans if the older sharks were still around.

Have a great day and a warmer one in Rogers my friend.

Best, Clint McKie

James I have heard this before. I always think when you see divers on TV hanging out with sharks that they are sort of nuts.

Interesting tidbit about shark teeth. My husband found a set of teeth in our bed today. Not ours, LOL. I think it's a row of teeth from our cat Jackson. He's only 3, he shouldn't be losing teeth.

So what happens when the missing oil never gets to the core? ..

That is pretty cool. Wish we had refills for our teeth.

James, now how did those sharks get the bonus replacement teeth. We lose a baby tooth and we have to wait and wait and wait - especially for those 'two front teeth.':)

James, that was very interesting. I am impressed that a new tooth can just move forward without having to re-grow.
