Book Review: Entreleadership by Dave Ramsey

I just finished reading one of Dave Ramsey's New York Best Sellers, Entreleadership (You can buy it here). It did take me longer than I expected (to finish) but then again, I don't get to read every night.

This book is a great book on how to start a business (if that's where you are) or even a small-to-medium sized team of people to grow the business.

What caught my attention the most is about Company CULTURE.

It's amazing how so many policies and ideas Dave Ramsey put in place to build a strong team, people with strong values and who believes in their mission.

Dave RamseyMy husband and I have personally experienced the first-hand associates at the Dave Ramsey Team. They are everything they project they are as a company and on the radio.

Lastly, I love how Dave Ramsey explained INTEGRITY at the end. Integrity comes from the word, "INTEGER" and in math, that means WHOLE. No halves and no decimals. To become a person in INTEGRITY (and be successful in leadership), being WHOLE is critical. You are ONE and the SAME every single time.

It's never being one personality in business while another at home.

He also briefly mentioned in 1 paragraph how we tend to take professional athletics, singers, actors and famous people as "ROLE MODELS" while we haven't really "known" them. Some of these people - although may have an incredible talent in acting or certain sports, but they are just that. It doesnt necessarily mean they would be people with good moral character. They cheat, they do drugs and they drink. Yet, our culture perceive these people as "ROLE MODELS". Integrity is earned, like trust over time. Over time, we can say (in his examples) role model leaders such as Tony Dungy and Billy Graham.

This Book is definitely a good read. Very applicable to growing our real estate business, building a strong team as well as building a company we can be proud of to serve our communities.

PS: I'm a huge Dave Ramsey fan. And this is my online review of the book. Dave Ramsey or his company/ team did not pay me to write this book.

Good morning Loreena,

I to have read this book and you have nailed it.  I have spent time with Dave and his associates in Brentwood and he is indeed exactly what he portrays.  A good man!

Wonderful book review Loreena and I was thinking this category is excellent for all of us to blog about. Culture they always say is a set of behaviors and if you define those and follow them in an INTEGRITY sense as Dave talks about, wow, what a great organization you will build. I have seen those role models too who have a talent like in a sport but are terrible as people. You can't go wrong with strong team and strong values. Good luck!!

Hi Loreena,

I like Dave Ramsey.  He is a great teacher and he has the experience in real estate to support what he talks about.  I need to re-read Entre- Leadership.

Best of GREAT success to you and the 3:16 team in 2014!
