Foreclosures & Short Sales

I live in beautiful San Ramon. When I'm out walking my dogs neighbors always ask, How's the Market? The news makes it sound like the sky is falling. So I decided to do a little research & see what was really going on in the marketplace. Keep in mind, this is just a snapshot in time. I compared numerous cities. Below I've outlined only 4.

An REO is a Bank Owned property.

A Short Sale means the Seller owes more than the current value of his home. These are pre-foreclsoures. They are unable to refinance & are trying to sell to get out from under it.

  • Danville: has 87 active listings & 2 Short Sales/REO's, that's only 2 %
  • San Ramon: has 224 active listings & 8 Short Sales/REO's, that's only 4%
  • Antioch: has 1069 active listings & 775 Short Sales/REO's, that's 72%
  • Brentwood: has 513 active listings & 296 Short Sales/REO's, that's 58%

I told my neighbor not to worry, San Ramon/Danville is very stable. Then I asked if he knew anyone that would like to take advantage of this buyers market. It's a great to invest. If you have any questions or comments I appreciate the feedback.
