Candy is Dandy, but Liquor is Quicker!

By
Real Estate Broker/Owner with Grants Pass, OR 199909023

Candy is Dandy, but Liquor is Quicker!  I'm always amused by one-liners.  Maybe you've heard this one before... it's new to me.

A Portland REALTOR popped by my office to share some information about one of his listings.  We were in the middle of an office meeting, so it was perfect timing for a meet and greet.  Since he's a subscriber of a different MLS, he wanted to share his listing with our agents.  Nice.

As he was leaving, I suggested he help himself to some chocolate in the candy dish next to the front door.  He said... 'Candy is Dandy, but Liquor is Quicker!'  I laughed out loud on that one.

Little does he know... our welcome mat includes a fully stocked cafe with various local vintage wines for those afternoon pop-bys.  It's dandy and quicker... and it's our little secret ;-)  Feel free to pop-by Real Estate Cafe.

I don't think I've heard that, but I like it.  We're having a wine and cheese at our office tomorrow to welcome some new agents.  I like those types of gatherings.

New York is the litigating capital of the world so we are not apt to offer liquor to visitors and if we had wine in the office all the time nothing would get done here.

Yep, I've heard that one.

As for your wine - it really does sound like a good, sociable drink. Too bad I've never acquired a taste. Now if you said that fridge held Coors Light...

As cold as it will be to night whiskey would help to warm the bones.  But no liquor in our office unless we are having a party.

And I thought they had to be of sound mind for the contract to be binding?  When all along I just had to get them drunk.  How easy is this?  LOL  I love Mel's writings.

I'm still LOL about... Your Ode' to Sweatpants... Q'man!

Marte ~ My first 'real' drink was a few summer's ago, when a friend of mine introduced me to Lambic Framboise.  It's a fabulous raspberry spritz... which I later learned is actually a Belguim beer.  Yumm!

Please do... Jim!  We love to entertain our guests ;-)

I heard there's a cold snap across the country... Cindy!  I'm one of those weird ones who likes ice cream in winter and hot coffee in summer ;-)

What... no wine or chocolate?  What are you thinking... Kathleen?
