Ice Belongs in My Drink, Not on the Staircase

ice, ice babyFor the past week or so, the weather here in Northern Virginia has been horrible.  We've had snow, sleet, freezing rain and something called the Polar Vortex.   Mix all of those things together and we get ice.  Ice is good...in my drink...on a hot day.  But when I'm trying to show a house and it's on the sidewalk or staircase...not so much.

If your home is on the market, please make sure that the snow and ice are removed.  Because if you don't one of two things could happen:

1.  Buyer won't go in:  if the buyer cannot gain access to your home, they can't fall in love with it.  If they can't fall in love with it, they won't make an offer.  If they don't make an offer, the days on the market will continue to add up and we all know that the longer a house sits on the market, the less it sells for.

2.  Buyer risks it:  slips on the ice and hurts themselves and you could be liable for their injuries.

Now that I've said my piece, I'm going to daydream about a hot day and ice in my drink.

Many home are very difficult to show because of ice and snow. And, even finding a place to park is a problem in many communities.

I am so glad this is over.  Looking forward to at least 6 months of no snow in Central PA!  You have made very good points.
