I don’t know what took me so long but on Sunday January 5th, 2014 I had the fortune to eat and explore Common Ground Kauai located at the old Guava Kai Plantation in Kilauea, Kauai.
The restaurant grows a lot of their own food or tries to buy locally from Kauai island farmers. It’s not hard to find the Common Ground Cafe but it’s a little off the beaten track. Located at 4900 Kuawa Road in Kilauea it’s located at the end of the road in a residential and farming community. The restaurant is located in a covered area outside. Customers read the menu and specials board, then order at the counter. Our meals were ready quickly even despite a busy Sunday mid morning crowd.

After eating my family and I took the walk to the old irrigation ditches and stone dam that have been maintained and landscaped. It’s a great place to stretch your legs after a full meal or enjoy some photo opportunities.
