As of this very moment there are 7,496 homes listed for sale through the Northeast Florida MLS. I am a bit of a numbers and statistics geek and spent a decadent hour digging around in our MLS to come up with the following totally irrelevant facts:
Least Expensive: The least expensive listing is actually comprised of 2 single family homes on .17 acres totaling 1,256 sq ft of heated space. This REO property has a total of 3 bedrooms and 2 baths, has been on the market for 105 days and is listed at $4,900.
Most Expensive: The most expensive listing, at $9,750,000, is a 4 bedroom 2 bath home on 40 acres in Ponte Vedra Beach with deeded access to a 10’ private beach. The property has a bit of everything including beach, river, pasture, and jungle and has been listed for 254 days.
Oldest Listing: There is a listing in our MLS that has been on the market for 2,253 days! The 3 bedroom, 2 bath lakeside cottage was listed in 2007 for $230,000; today it is available for $99,000. I’m going to guess that the seller of this home is not terribly motivated.
Millionare’s Club: Of the 7,496 available properties, 270 are listed for more than $1,000,000 and 2,335 are listed at or below $100,000. What a difference a zero makes!
Market Share: The company I proudly work for, Watson Realty Corp., holds 3,484 or 46.5% of the current available listings in our market. A family-owned business, Watson Realty Corp. recently celebrated its 48th anniversary. Talk about staying power and market dominance!
Most Bedrooms: The greatest number of bedrooms in a single family home currently on the market is ten. I’m relieved to know that the same house has 8 full bathrooms and covers more than 12,300 sq. ft. of luxurious living space.
Smallest House: The smallest house is a mobile home boasting a total area of 363 sq. ft. Don’t mistake small for cheap, though: the home is listed at $85,000.
Largest House: The largest house includes a 2-lane bowling alley, an indoor basketball court, stadium and full-service locker rooms and is a total of 20,359 sq. ft.
Surely with options like these and everything in between there has to be a house to suit most every buyer!
