The other day a student of mine asked why we celebrate Good Friday. Wow, what a perfect opportunity. As I was explaining, the boy asked why someone's death would be celebrated, especially if it was a person with the character of Jesus. For a non-christian this day probably does seem strange but for a christian this is one of the big three days to celebrate, Christmas, Good Friday, & the glorious Easter. God in all his glory came to us as a child, died as our Savior, and rose again to conquer death. How could we not "celebrate" those three events? How could we forget those three events each and every day? I pray that God will remind me in my time with Him each day what He did for me and as opportunity arises share with others.
Take time this weekend to praise God for what he has done.
