In 1989 the Texas State Legislature pass the Economic Development Corporation Act. Two years later the Frisco EDC (Economic Development Corporation) was established as a non-profit corporation. The mission of the Frisco EDX is to improve the economic opportunities and quality of life for all residents. They certainly have done that.
Frisco Economic Development Corporation
The FEDC has four goals:
- Attract jobs from the outside area
- Retain and expand local businesses
- improve product readiness and competitiveness
- Enhance Frisco;s innovation culture through entrepreneurship
As you can see based on the last 5 years they have been very successful at accomplishing their goals.

Recognition
But you don;t have to take my word for it. Here are some of the recognition the FEDC received:
Recognized as the "Highest Performing Economic Development Organiozation in 2012" among cities with populations 100,001 - 250,000—Atlas Magazine 2013 Benchmark Survey
Recognized as the No. 1 Economic Development Organization in North Texas, based on value of deals done in 2012—Dallas Business Journal
Created the Frisco Texas International Development Center (FTIDC) and received federal approval of an EB-5 Regional Center
When the FEDC looks at the future of Frisco the top 9 projects are very impressive. While I won't review them all today, I will be posting additional information on each of these as they are updated.
Projects
Many people are already aware of the Dallas Cowboys relocating their entire practice facility to Frisco. This is not the largest project currently being worked on but it certainly has received a lot of press. The plan has not yet been released but will be in the near future.
On the other side of the Dallas North Tollway from the Cowboys future facility is the relocation of Conifer Health Solutions Corporate Headquarters. This project will keep 500 jobs in Frisco and add an additional 550 new jobs. The new facility is part of the Duke Bridges Office Park (Northeast corner of the DNT and Warren Parkway.) While this is currently under construction, it is expected to be completed this quarter.
I will continue to update this blog with additional FEDC information. Keep checking back for more information on the new Hall Office Park facility, the Forum at Wade Park, Grand Park, Frisco Square, Frisco Market Center, Eldorado Commons and the big Frisco North project which is the entrance to Frisco from the North. It looks to be spectacular.
