About 6,500 people took place in this morning's Half Marathon and 5K race in Woodbridge, Irvine.
HERE's a video clip.
A Half Marathon is 13.1 miles and a 5K race, (5,000 meters), is 3.1 miles.
A lot of the serious runners used today's fun and fast race to prepare for all the great runs that are coming up, like the Surf City Marathon, the LA Marathon, the Boston Marathon, and the OC Marathon.
Chip timing was used, (a chip imbedded in the bib number) in this year's Half Marathon and 5K race, and a T-shirt and a great “goodie” bag were available.
I am happy to have sponsored mile-marker #1 to help support Woodbridge High School athletics and other Irvine Schools.
If you didn't make it down here today, think about coming next year. It's always a lot of fun.
