Perception Versus Reality

"Perception versus reality" has always been one of my favorite expressions.  I utilize it on an almost daily basis to explain some thinking that may be a tad short of realistic. This seems to happen a lot today!!

As I sit and watch the NFC Division playoff game, I keep hearing the commentators mention that "the Saints defense has been on the field a lot today (implying that they are tired)".  My question is, "if the defense has been on the fiels a long time, doesn't that mean that the other team's offense has been on the field a long time too"?  Never understood that and the commentators have been saying that for a long time. I have never once heard a commentator imply that the offense would be tired because, "they have been on the field a long time"! LOL

Just a thought on a miserable day for a Saints fan!!!

Happy New Year...knock 'em dead in 2014!!

Paddy,  Are you suggesting that what the commentators say has to make sense? I often feel they ramble on into their open mic often not really thinking about what they are saying.  That's just me.
