Goose Egg Gathering Garners Gratitude!
Well it's Sunday and time for a Re-Blog party, now to share a few gems that I have been collecting this week, I hope you enjoy them and stop by the original posters blog to leave them a supportive comment.
Have a Great Week!
Goose Egg Gathering Garners Gratitude!
Several months ago, Larry and Helen Prier commented on a post of mine and said this “Even if you get one comment you know someone out there has read your thoughts.”
This is not a new topic, but one that is addressed from time to time. It’s about that lonely post… sitting up in cyberspace… all by itself without a comment to its name.
All they have is (no offense to any geese out there) one big goose egg sitting out to the side of their post.
Yes, I know that those who write monthly market reports, listings or some local posts don’t really expect comments from the peanut gallery. They’re more interested (and rightly so) in calls and business that their posts will generate.
But if you’re like me, you no doubt remember your first post and that first comment you received. I remember who made it (Cindy Edwards) and will never forget it. I also remember some of the posts I’ve written where that old goose egg sat there for a good part of the day before anyone commented.
If you’re new to ActiveRain, and finally gotten up the courage/nerve to post something, then waiting for that first comment is like waiting for the postman to bring your college acceptance letter.
So as I’m meandering through blogsville here, in search for posts to feature in my weekly “What I learned” post, I do try to stop and gather those goose eggs when I have time.
Often I find that the blogger is new to ActiveRain and doesn’t know about placing their posts in ActiveRain Groups so they might better be seen. Sometimes their post went out at a time when many of us are viewing the world through the inside of our eyelids. By the time we're up, their post as fallen off the blogroll page.
What if the next time you’re wandering around the Rainand you see that big “0” by someone’s comment, you stop and take a minute to pop in and say “hello?”
You might just be that one comment/encouragement that the blogger needs! And who knows, you might learn something as well!
