Back in the late 1800's a road crew working to establish a route through a difficult mountain pass came along these beautiful falls. Many other sites were found in a similar manner (Sabbady Falls Rte 112)...I'll share a few I find enjoyable in the area in and around where I list and sell properties..
On another survey and road excavation trip Mount Pemigewasset was named after a local Indian tribe...as you can see the stone face and ridge line of trees resembles and Indian's head with feather headdress.
One other accidental discovery was found by a Grandmother - Looking for a new place to fish. This site is now called the Flume Gorge (with Mount Flume feeding the stream that created it.
The White Mountain National Forest and State of New Hampshire Park lands - make up a fair amount of the entire state. Many a natural wonder has already been found, but are still well worth discovering for yourselves.
The view of Squam lake from the top of Rattle snake mountain is an easy hike and the reward at the top is breathtaking.
The View of Mount Washington from the Top of the Loon Mountain Ski area in Lincoln NH...is well Awesome.
