Lone Survivor - The Movie

Real Estate Agent with Shahar Management

Recently I got to the movies unexpectedly.  My husband wanted to see Lone Survivor and I didn't recognize the title.  I asked who was in it and he said Mark Wahlberg so I was fine with the movie.  I love Mark Wahlberg, I think he is a terrific actor whether in a comedy or a drama.

WELL...if you haven't seen this movie and are thinking about it you may want to rethink it.  It is not for the faint of heart.  I didn't realize until I was halfway through the movie that I already knew this story.  I had seen it on either 60 Minutes or 20/20 in great detail.  I spent the whole 2nd half of the movie in tears.  This movie is based on the true story of what happened to 4 navy seals on a mission in Afghanistan (as well as others) in 2005.

I know many, many people in the armed forces and this movie gives you a whole new appreciation for what your loved ones are doing for this country.  I think even the toughest personality will have trouble watching this film.  I think it was well done and the acting was excellent but it will forever be imprinted on my mind.  Definitely not for kids.

My heart goes out to the families of the people mentioned in this movie and to all families with loved ones in the armed forces.

Howdy and evening Debra

Debra my AR friend, I seen way to much of it in real life. So I stay away from those kind of movies.

Debbie, I haven't been to the movies in a long time, mostly because I didn't think there was anything worthwhile watching.  This one definitely doesn't sound like the normal movie fare so I will check the local listings.

Hi Debra, I had heard about this story as well and it is beyond sad, it is tragic. We have given so much blood and treasure for a civalization that hasn't progressed beyond the dark ages and have little appreciation for life.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  It is definitely well done no question-was a very good movie.  I agree with William 100% and I hope one day there will be no reason for the continuous loss of life due to war.

Hi Debra: Thanks for the movie suggestion. MW is great actor. One who can act without trying hard. I should have tissue ready before I sit down to watch it.

Thanks everyone for your comments.  For those who go you will love the movie and definitely have a new appreciation for our troops - for those who have already served we are so grateful to you.
