A Big Day for Total Mortgage Services
Yesterday marked an enormous day for Total Mortgage Services. We've been fortunate enough to receive many accolades over the years and it hasn't been a surprise to me to see that we continually land on lists like the Inc.500 fastest growing companies, but yesterday was an event that doesn't happen everyday, and a day many small businesses only dream of.
The official ribbon cutting ceremony at our new national headquarters in Milford, CT and the announcement of a $3.5 million state loan intended to help with our growth & job creation along the way. With more than 100,000 square feet, our new corporate office space will allow us to reach our goal of doubling in size & staff by 2018. While TMS has been a staple in Milford since 1997, our new offices and state assistance will allow us to grow into a larger national lender.
Currently, TMS is licensed to lend in 29 states plus Washington DC (I personally hold licenses in PA, DE, NJ, and CA), and that list is sure to expand as we do.
What makes me most proud is that within the state loan there are contingencies that we not only keep our current workforce, but double it by 2018. We've put $1.5 million loan forgiveness on the line to meet that goal, which I have no doubt we'll achieve, even as many other lenders are cutting jobs.
Connecticut Governor Danell Malloy and Milford mayor Ben Blake were on hand for the ceremony, and the Governor stated in a press release "By supporting companies like Total Mortgage Services, we are developing the industry infrastructure and workforce of our financial services, bolstering our standing as a national leader in this highly competitive sector and creating hundreds of good paying jobs with good benefits in the process".
It's a good feeling to be a part of something big, and to see how far we've come since I joined the team in 2010 has been amazing. With this giant leap, I'm excited to see where we're headed and to be a part of a growing team as we work to become a top national lender.
