It's January 15th….how are those Resolutions Going?

So, did you make any New Year's resolutions? If so how are they going?

If not....why not?

I started out my year by being on vacation for 12 days and now I am ready to kick it in gear. Both personally and business wise.

I am not a New Year's Resolution kind of gal. It just never seemed to work in the past and I gave it up. Now...I do have a couple goals for the year. That's different right?

Ya, ya, ya.....I want to lose weight. That has been a goal since I was 16. It just never ends. But I am taking on a new one this year...

Get My Home Organized!!

There, I said it and it is out there for all the world to see. I am not going to pressure myself too hard so I am setting my goal at one 'thing' or 'place' cleared out or organized a month.

And I am not even selling my house!! LOL

My January project is going to be the large cabinet pantry in my kitchen.

My February project is going to be the walk in pantry. Lord help me. Second thought it is going to be the food section of the walk in pantry in February and the pots and pans section in March. Whew...that's better.

So that's it. Each month I am selecting a place or area in my home to dig in! I am so excited! I can do this. It is only 1 thing a month. I can handle it.

I will keep you posted along the way to see how I am doing. So you can cheer me on is more like it!!

Wish me luck.

Shar - Good for you on all counts.  I'm going to have to do some of the same when I get back from my vacation.

Between your post and Debbies comment I just discovered why my house is an unorganized mess. I need a vacation.

Shar, I don't want to announce mine but they sound exactly like yours! Especially the one on loosing weight since 16 LOL. Anyway after my last staging job and me having 2 vacations  in the row (not that I'm complaining about) when my 18 y.o. son was babysitting the house, I have all my accessories and valuable stuff in my bedroom, my staging inventory int he guest bedroom.I love your idea on one area per month. I've promised my husband one pile each weekend day;-). I'll come back January 31st to check on the status. Good luck

Shar- welcome to the club.  You're tackling it the way I do.... one area at a time.  I'm starting with my closet.  That should take all of 2014! LOL

Shar~ That's awesome, realistic and perfectly reasonable! I scheduled a dinner party at the end of the month just to get the house CLEANED! We've been "organizing" too, as we go along. Lots of trash and a few donations. Love it!

Shar I really like your idea of organizing one area a month!!  I can do that, too because it's broken up into smaller jobs and won't be overwhelming.  I moved into my present home three years ago and still have some closets and storage areas to get better organized.  Thanks for the inspiration, I'm going to do it too!

One pile a weekend is a good idea too Anna. It may take me too long at that rate though. LOL

Oh gosh Kathy, I am not even considering my closet in 2014!

It feels so good to toss and throw and donate for sure Donna. And yes....having guests is always a good way to get the house cleaned!

Great Maureen. We will hold each other to it and kick each other when we don't. We can do it...I know we can!

I wish I had a pantry!  LOL!  Organizing a pantry is my favorite organizing of all and I don't have one!  My master closet has been on my list for a while now...I need to get to that project soon.
