Solid Waste Pick-up Schedule Changes

All City of Atlanta government offices will be closed for Martin Luther King Day on Monday, January 20, 2014. In order to serve the public and honor Dr. King, the City of Atlanta Department of Public Works will shift the Solid Waste Pick-up Schedule forward one day for the week of January 20, 2014.
The SOLID WASTE PICK-UP SCHEDULE has been advanced one day as follows:
· Monday Pick-Ups will occur on Tuesday, January 21st
· Tuesday Pick-Ups will occur on Wednesday, January 22nd
· Wednesday Pick-Ups will occur on Thursday, January 23rd
· Thursday Pick-Ups will occur on Friday, January 24th
If your yard debris has not been picked up yet, please be patient. The severe weather from early January caused delays in the scheduled pick-ups. They hope to catch up this week.
The Department of Public Works issued a statement about the delays caused by the extreme weather in Atlanta in early January 2014:
"Services were delayed this week due to freezing weather temperatures. The safety and well-being of our workforce is extremely important to us, however, we are committed to ensuring timely pick-up service to our residential customers. ... we are completing ... household garbage and recycling pick-up. Remaining ... pick-ups will be completed by the end of the week [of January 17th]."
