ENGINEER INFORMATION
For Manufactured Home Foundation Requirements

While the 433A curative title process usually involves a licensed manufactured home contractor, engineers are central to the process.

The reason is that all foundation plans submitted to a building department for permit issuance must either be pre-engineered and certified Department of Housing and Community Development Standard Plan Approval (SPA) or an engineer prepares a site specific plans with calculations. HCD Standard Plan Approvals are subject to change as they need to be re-certified by the Department every two years.
There are a variety of state certified Standard Plan Approvals that are acceptable including:
- Abesco Tuf-1
- CP Seismic
- Oliver Technologies All Steel Foundation
- Sedco Support Master
- xi-2
- Minute Man

In cases of FHA-insured loans and VA, lenders also generally require a site specific HUD Foundation Compliance Report aka Engineer's Certification specifying that the home meets the 1996 HUD PERMANENT FOUNDATION GUIDE FOR MANUFACTURED HOMES.
We work with a network of engineers to provide an engineer's certification if this is a necessary underwriting component.
