Last week we attended a 16th birthday party for the child of one of our dearest friends. When we arrived (as we were a little late) it was the "cocktail hour" for the teens and the adults. We knew then it was going to be a big event.
The family and birthday girl were getting their pictures taken. Once that was done we entered the ballroom and took our seats. The DJ started the music and the teens hit the floor! It was like being at a wedding. We all had a wonderful time as did the teens. Since our daughter is much older I was wondering if this is more common practice now for the teens when they turn 16? Some of them had surprises prepared with speeches and one even sang as a surprise. It was a very touching event. We were so happy to have been there!
