Taking care of ourselves can mean different things to each of us. Some people are very athletic and may work out intensively on nearly a daily basis for almost their entire lives. Others may take a more moderate approach. Perhaps, a third group may choose to avoid having any significant exercise at all.
The second group is more my style, and I find that moderate exercise is very helpful and practical. (Disclaimer: Before starting any exercise program, please consult your physician first.) Below are a few personal benefits for me that may strike a chord with others.
1) My resting heart rate stays consistently in a more healthy range when I exercise regularly.
2) I am emotionally more prepared to handle stressful situations when I exercise on a regular
basis. For me, that's at least four to five days per week for about one hour duration.
3) Cardiovascular exercise, like by jogging or running, seems to help me the most.
4) Walking also is valuable as a exercise routine. Some free weights for strength training also
helps.
5) My goal of losing 20 to 25 pounds by this summer becomes more obtainable for me with
exercise. I probably couldn't drop any weight or may gain more weight without having regular
exercise.
6) Losing weight with regular exercise also will most likely help drop my blood pressure to more
healthy levels. Right now it often can be slightly elevated.
7) Lowering my bodyfat percentage also helps my self-esteem. Based on prior experiences in
life, I feel better about myself when having a healthier bodyfat percentage.
8) By feeling better about myself, I have more energy and express more enthusiasm to others
around me---such as co-workers and clients.
9) By using time management skills, I can find time to get regular exercise as well as get my
work done in residential real estate.
10) As I make a time commitment to get regular exercise, I feel more energetic. Being more
energetic helps me be more successful with helping my clients and getting work done!
Are you wondering what may help energize your life? Maybe getting more regular exercise along with healthy eating can help!
