Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish

Dateline: Saturday night, Plymouth MA

Subject: Johnny Hoy and the Bluefish

These guys have been rocking the South Shore and the Cape and Islands for years!  I had no idea they were playing nearby last night until I walked past a sandwich board on the street in Plymouth announcing that they were playing in the back right then.

I had to go in.  Had to.  So many good summer memories from those wistful days of youth. Brought it all back.  And it still feels good!

The dancing crowd was filled with kids from 20 to 70.

He's such a great entertainer. So soulful and passionate. Such a good band leader. The perfect bar band. Good at weddings, too, as I recall fondly!

Brad,  It was one of those moments that was meant to happen.  There you were and there they were playing!  Glad you enjoyed them again.

How fun.  I'm envious that I couldn't see them play last night.  Live music is fun.

Did they play at your wedding?

Ha, Sondra, nooo. We had a Cajun band. I was married for almost exactly the '90s. Johnny is more '70s!

Brad, I was going to joke when I saw your title that this would make a great name for a band, but now I see it is!  I am sure Hootie would feel honored!  Looks like they are really getting into it!

I imagine Johnnie Hoy is honored by Hootie!  He's rather the senior fellow, and at least as good.

Brad, I love the reference to kids from 20 to 70.  I can almost hear them in the picture.
