Living and working in Katy and Cypress just got better! The Grand Parkway has opened between I-10 and Hwy 290.
Many new businesses have been moving their headquarters to the Katy and Cypress areas (the Grand Parkway has influenced this business development). Thus, the opening of this segment of the Grand Parkway has created an efficient connection for residents as they travel between Katy and Cypress to work and home. This bodes very well for residential real estate. It is great for sellers as more buyers move into these areas but it is also great for buyers since property values are expected to increase. For example, in 1994 when the parkway first opened in Fort Bend County, assessed value on the ground was about $600 million. By 2011, the assessed value on the ground was estimated at almost $10 Billion. http://www.grandparkway99.com/.
This seemless direct connection between Katy and Cypress . . . between I-10 and Hwy 290 . . . also will provide relief from traffic pressure on Beltway 8 and other connectors of those two major freeways (such as Hwy 6, North Eldridge, Barker-Cypress and Fry Road) . . . and reduced traffic pressure is a very good thing indeed!
