In Frisco Texas, as well as in Dallas and Plano, WOGA is where fun meets fitness. WOGA trains children from toddlers to teens. This year, in Frisco, WOGA will hold the 2014 WOGA Classic. This is a great weekend of competition, fun and festivities that will be held on February 8th and 9th.

WOGA Classic

This competition attracts some of the top teams which in turn means a fantastic field of competitors and an outstanding opportunity watch and see the competition between future Olympic stars. WOGA is not just for a once a year event. There are several events throughout the year but this is a learning and teaching facility as well.

WOGA Classes

WOGA has many classes for kids who are just walking up to 5 years old, boys gymnastics from 6 years and up, girls gymnastics for 6 years and up and other classes including trampoline, cheer, tumbling and cross training. These children are taught by world class coaches.

Founders

The two founders of WOGA include Coach Yevgeny Marchenko and Coach Valeri Liukin.  To give you an idea of what WOGA means by world class is the fact that Coach Machenko was the US Olympic Women's Team Coach in 2004, US National Team Coach 1999-2007, and International Coach of the Year 2001 - 2004 to name a few accomplishments.

Coach Liukin may be more recognizable as he is the coach, and father of Olympic World Champion Nastia Liukin as well as being the 1988 Seaol Olympic Gold and Silver medalist, 5 gold medals in the 1990 Goodwill Games and in the 1987-1991 World Champions he took home gold and silver medals. These are true champions on their own as well as two of the most respected coaches in the business today.

This is just another reason why in 2011 Frisco was named the best place to raise an athlete. This small fast growing city in the northern suburbs of Dallas has come into its own. Frisco has been able to create an environment which provides many businesses the ability to thrive. Whether you are into football, basketball, baseball, hockey, soccer, gymnastics, bicycling, swimming, shooting, etc...Frisco has a place for you to participate, compete, watch and enjoy sports all year long. This city has produced results that has its residents doing their own back flips.

Jeff, Fitness programs in schools these days are lacking. I see more and more public fitness companies, including those for toddlers, popping up all around town. Many malls have them but ... kids need more exercise and less technology, IMHO.

Good morning Jeff. Great organization and wonderful opportunity for kids to grow their gymnastic skills. You never know when the next world class athlete will come from.

Hey Mark/TIm - WOGA is pretty extraordinary. Thanks for fcommenting.

Hi Kathleen - it is amazing how so many kids can define bits and bytes but not understand carbs and fats let alone aerobic vs. anerobic.

Hey Joe - it would not surprise me if the next one comes out of here. They have already had several world class.
