Weltanschauung - A World View
The Oxford Dictionary says that the meaning of weltanschauung is "a particular philosophy or view of life; the world view of an individual or group."
The ActiveRain's guiding principles, or weltanschauung, lists 
number ten as "ActiveRain believes that it is in the best interests of real estate professionals to build a community that is focused on educating one another."
When I started blogging in May of 2008, it was one of the results of hiring a young Realtor to teach me how to be more tech savvy. Emily taught me about social networking and had me create profiles on the then existing sites. After she left, I had to figure out the rest alone.
My first encounter with an ActiveRain member was Margaret Rome. I had just commented on her post Technology and Being Better at What we Do. I realized quickly how much catching up I still had to do. She helped me to blog about it in my Holy Batman, I thought I was a little Behind...
This was such a perfect example of how we educate each other. Years later, I can truly say that most of what I know about technology, I have learned here in the Rain.
Most of us take Continuing Education classes at our local boards. They always have the Core classes and often some good technology classes.
But there's nothing like the wealth of information that we have here in the Rain.
Before ActiveRain University, the way to learn anything about blogging was to search for certain topics or just read the many features and other posts that helped you fine tune each part.
One could find numerous posts on SEO, the Cloud, Twitter, Facebook and now Google +. Industry experts teach us about mortgages, staging, home inspections and flooring.
As a Realtor, new to the business or ready to retire, you can find whatever you need know here in the Rain.
Let us always continue to educate one another!
