Anchorage Election Workers Needed
Voting is a right we cherish here in the United States. One of the greatest civic duties an average Anchorage citizen can perform is not just voting, but actually working a polling place during an election. Anytime you cast your vote, the people you check in with and ask questions of are volunteers. Right now, Anchorage election workers are needed for on April 1st (and that's not a joke). Are you willing to volunteer your time for this important civic duty?
When you work an Anchorage election, you get to connect with members of the community. Typically, the City of Anchorage needs 600 volunteers to work 120 polling places every Election Day. Election workers are paid $9.50 per hour for their training time as well as their Election Day duties. On April 1st, polling places will be open all across Anchorage. Volunteers will need to work from 6am to 10pm to help facilitate the needs of the voters.
Requirements to be an Anchorage Election Worker:
- Must be registered to vote in Anchorage.
- Must stay non-partisan while working at the polling place (all political opinions must be kept to yourself).
- Must attend a mandatory training session prior to Election Day.
- Must know how to organize and process paperwork properly.
- Must be able to follow directions.
Anchorage election workers are needed for the next Election Day. Applications are being considered right now. If you are interested, please call (907) 243-VOTE or email the Anchorage Elections Department. A community is only as good as the people who contribute to it.
