Here on the Big Island of Hawaii, many buyers who do not plan to live in their home full time, usually end up buying a condominium where the Home Owners Association takes care of all property on the outside. 

Not only that, but many developments have a Management Company that will rent out the condominium which helps the homeowner to recoup some of the expenses.

Choosing in which condominium development to purchase a unit is a very individual choice. Live in or near a town such as Kailua-Kona where you can walk to restaurants, shops and the beach. The pace is quite hectic here and many buyers like that activity.

Others like the relative quiet and isolation of a condominium in one of the beautiful oceanfront developments that line the Kohala Coast a little further north. Here, the pace is much more relaxed and vacation-like. Since many of these owners use their unit sporadically during the year and are treating the unit as a getaway, this sounds like the ideal solution in wanting to invest in a condominium.

AND THEN THERE ARE THE BUYERS WHO WANT TO SPEND A GOODLY AMOUNT OF TIME ON THE BIG ISLAND OF HAWAII.

There are many buyers who purchase a second or third home in Hawaii, planning to spend a large amount of time on their property. Mostly, these buyers are looking for privacy. They like the idea of being surrounded by a tropical gardens, the use of their private swimming pool, and everything else that goes with a luxury property.

These buyers will arrange for gardeners, pool and housekeeping services to keep the home in good condition throughout the year. It is worth it to them to have the home ready anytime they are in the mood or position to spend time in their home on the Big Island of Hawaii.

What is most important for these home owners are the amenities provided by the development in which the home is situated. For example, at the home for sale at the Mauna Kea Resort (see information below), owners have use of the beautiful beach and access to the championship golf course as well as resort amenities at the Mauna Kea Beach Hotel located in this luxury golf and beach community.
