Business was booming for sellers in Howard County which includes Columbia, Ellicott City and Clarksville. Check out these important indicators from the end of 2013 - they were strongly improved from 2012:
Average Sold Price - Up over 8%
Average Time on Market - Down over 38%
Number of Single Family Homes Sold - Up over 12%
In addition - home sellers are getting offers that are VERY close and sometimes even above their asking price. The Columbia area in Maryland is a popular destination for people moving from other states because of our proximity to jobs in Baltimore, Washington and Annapolis.
There were 816 homes for sale in Howard County in December of 2013 so the inventory for buyers is a good one! Interest rates are still very low which is a huge incentive for home ownership.
