Granite Vs Marble

By
Services for Real Estate Pros with Monumental Marble, Inc

Granite and Marble are both beautiful stones.  When it comes to purchasing a counter top, the first question is where are you putting the counter. IF you are purchasing a kitchen counter I would recommend GRANITE.  For bathrooms granite or marble.  You ask why, that is granite is a stronger and less porous stone.  Granite  is less likely to stain and can withstand soap and oil better than marble.

Both stones are beautiful, but you need to discuss your selection with your professional first and they will advise you accordingly.

Hi John,  Thanks for the review.  I have heard that marble is more likely to " Flake " or crack.  True ?

hi John, Is is possible that Marble tiles could be from a bad selection and have many veins in it and can cause it to crack or flake.

My last home had a marble bathroom floor that was over 8 years old and it looked and never cracked even after I sold the home.

Maybe, because you were the installer that installed my floor in my home.

Yes, Granite is stronger than Marble!  Great information to share with others. We do a lot of cleaning, sealing, and repairs to Marble.  Granite is so much stronger for Kitchen countertops! Jason

Because of this i came to know the difference between the granite and marble. Now, I can take decision of using granite into my kitchen instead of marbles beacuse it is less porous.
