Very exciting news for our little neighborhood in the heart of Intown Atlanta! The crew for the final Hunger Games movie is all set up an ready to film at the Pullman Yard in Historic Kirkwood near the intersection of Rodgers Street and Hosea L Williams.
I know that my dogs and I will be taking lots of long walks in hopes of spotting Gale and Katniss! :)
For those of you that are familiar with the Hunger Games triliogy, rumor has it that Kirkwood's Pullman Yard will be home to District 13, the last of the districts that we later find out is fully operational underground below all the rubble.
On a side note, the Kirkwood community is making headway in putting the abandoned Pullman Yard to good use for the entire area and we've heard rumors about a mixed-use work/live community and more serious negotiations about a sports complex. Only time will tell!

I love that the City of Atlanta officials have worked so hard to bring all of the filmmakers to our fair city! In the last three years, I've had more than a dozen celeb sightings and passed by dozens and dozens of film crews, from The Walking Dead TV series to award-winning movies like The Blind Side.
