Concept to Reality…it's a long way home

I was thinking yesterday, that from the time a good idea gets to become a reality is a long process and often laden with problems unimagined. Take health care for example...it's a great idea but has yet to become a reality, in the way intended for most of us. My personal peeve is that most people who debate this have no idea what the reality of sitting in front of a computer screen for hours on end, without any success. Try calling a government agency for anything at any time and you get frustrated. Now fold in the necessity of needing coverage and the consequences are really traumatic.

I am working on Medicare now, and it is so exasperating. I never ever thought this would be so very difficult but it is. Nothing is a given and just when you thought that at a certain point in your life things could be predicted....surprise, surprise.

Life is one big surprise after another. Planning is good but as is said by some anonymous source.....  "Man Plans and G-d Laughs...." Make it a good day.

Good morning, Sheila....when I applied for Medicare, it was one phone call that I made three months before the date of qualification and it was done.... it was also one very happy day when that kicked in....I was paying $1,750/month for blue cross blue shield for me...used it once in over 20 years for one shoulder surgery.... that's a chunk of change that's in my pocket.... you'll love medicare....

Hi Sheila - in life and in work dreams are easy. Visions are dreams with a direction. Visions can become plans. But the longest part of any road is execution. Actually turning those plans into functioning reality is where most things get messed up. Sorry for your frustrations.

I think part of the problem is no one is accountable and no one cares.

Good morning friends and thank you for stopping by and leaving your comments and offering your support: I really appreciate it.

Hello Barbara. You're better than I am. If you take Medicare B which you must in order to buy a prescription plan......it's not free.  (not expensive but not free). Then finding a company that writes the rest and accepts my physician is not a walk over. I think I have it covered but my regular coverage was better and they drop me in April. It isn't straight forward and I met with a local counselor. Glad it worked for you.

Hi Jeff. You are exactly right. I am moving along and doing OK but for many it is beyond their tolerance and they go without. You are very perceptive. Enjoy your day.

Hello Rob. I agree with you and it is a sad commentary. One person says to call another and each time I have to give too much information after a twenty minute phone game. Too complicated and most folks don't care and are not accountable.

Thanks all.

Sheila
