Motivated to Move | Active Adult Communites
On our Caribbean Cruise this month we met the nicest people from all over and many of them shared with us how much they like living in an active adult community.
I met Pat in the hot tub where she told me all about The Villages Florida in Orlando. She went for a week to visit friends then after returning home decided to move there. She says it is nice that they have everything there so it's not like moving to an isolated "cruise ship" active adult community because there are lively town areas and every service and shopping you could want are in the community.
On thing Pat that told me about The Villages was interesting to me is that you you can't tell how rich or poor someone is from the section where they live because there are a variety of sizes, values and types in each section. I had looked at one active adult community where that was not the case and you had the larger homes in one section, the average homes and the smaller homes in two other sections.
Jim and Lorie I met on the ship to play Bocee ball and later golf putting. They live in two communities, one active adult community in Florida for the Winter and one in Missouri the other times. I asked Jim what three things he liked about the communities and he said 1) activities 2) activities and 3) activities. I thought he would have said people was number 2, but they are an active couple and you could tell from their good physical condition and great competitors.
Then on another day we played Bocce ball with Linda who lives in Sun City Hilton Head. She had a smile on her face the whole time when telling about her community. It has 6,000 residents already and will have 12,000 upon completion. Each section has it's own activities center. She and her partner beat us at Bocce even though we really wanted to win.
The people we have met who live in active adult communities are great advocates for their communities and you can just tell they love the lifestyle. There is good reason homes are selling fast in active adult communties across the country.
