Glenview Illinois has had a fantastic gain in the real estate market in the last few years. In 2011, 598 homes were sold, 2012, 716 and last year in 2013 a huge gain of 907 homes sold last year. 2014 will be even better and the housing market shows huge opportunity for both home and condo buyers and sellers.
At the present time there are 112 single family homes for sale ranging from $159,900 to a 6 
bedroom house on a half acre on the Glen golf course for $2,795,000, and 74 houses under contract and waiting to close shortly. As far as condominiums there are 25 for sale ranging from $82,500 all the way up to $649,900 a 3 bedroom 3 1/2 bathroom townhouse. 66 Condos are under contract and waiting to close. Such a wide range in a beautiful community that there is something for anyone and still very active.
Glenview IL is 18 miles north of downtown Chicago and in Cook county with a population of 44,692. From 2009 through 2011 the average household income was $90,000 so it is bordering on some very affluent suburbs like Wilmette and Winnetka but much more affordable.
Glenview was the home of Glenview Naval Air Station for many years. It was not needed any more and in 1995 was converted by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill to a truly desirable residential area that includes a full range of houses, condos and town houses and a great downtown area with excellent restaurants, shops, movie theaters and anything you would ever want including a lake, soccer fields, walking and biking trails, two golf courses and a children museum called the Kohl Children's museum that is just so much fun to visit, even over sized kids like myself can have fun. There is too much to see in one day. This community is called The Glen.
Glenview has really fantastic schools and served by district 34 and 37. The rating from Great Schools for Glenview is 9 out of a scale of 1 to 10 and many are rated 10.
