About Roxborough Real Estate

I love helping clients with Roxoborough real estate. Roxborough and the nearby communities of Manayunk and East Falls are some of my favorite parts of the city. In fact, I love it so much that when it came time to buy our home, my wife and I chose to live in Roxborough, Philadelphia.

Roxborough Real Estate has so much to offer in both the types of homes available, the value, amenities in the area, and it's location.

Homes in Roxborough, Philadelphia

Much of Roxborough was developed in the early 1900's, though Upper Roxborough was mostly developed after 1950. Prior to the development boom, the area was occupied by owner's of the mills in Manayunk. Eventually, homes were built for managers and workers in the mills.

Today, Roxborough is a thriving community with many remnants of the old days including large Victorian homes, twin homes, and rowhouses. If you prefer new construction Roxborough real estate, there's plenty of recently built homes and new development. Roxborough has become a great area to invest, even making Philadelphia Magazine's list of "Top 10 Places to Invest in Philadelphia Right Now."

Roxborough is made up of numerous smaller neighborhoods and communites. There is something for everyone looking for anything from an urban residential neighborhood to suburban subdivisions.

Roxborough is bordered by the Wissahickon Valley Park, Manayunk, and Montgomery County. The Wissahickon Valley Park offers residents miles of hiking and biking trails and fishing in the Wissahickon Creek. The park is 1,800 acres and along the edges of the park are smaller parks with everything from tennis courts to soccer and baseball fields.

Getting to Main Street in Manayunk is convenient from most anywhere in Roxborough. On Main Street, residents find festivals and events, restaurants, luxury shops, and a recreational path that follows the Manayunk Canal. Be sure to check out local favorites Bourbon Blue, Derek's Wine Bar, and Winnie's Le Bus. Favorite festivals include the Manayunk Arts Festival, the Manayunk StrEats Festival, and First Fridays.

Roxborough's location can't be beat. Located in northwest Philadelphia, Roxborough is only 7 miles from Center City. Center City is accessible by public transportation, the interstate, and secondary roads. Being on the border of Montgomery County, Roxborough is convenient to Conshohocken, Plymouth Meeting, and Lafayette Hill. Within these areas you'll find the Plymouth Meeting Mall, Whole Foods, Ikea, Home Depot, Target, REI, and more.

Thank you, Hannah! The restaurants are one of the (many) reasons we moved here. If you haven't tried it yet, I definitely recommend The Goat's Beard. It's a newer small plates restaurant and absolutely fantastic. Manayunk Tomato is a new favorite, we have someone with Celiac Disease in our house so we have to be very careful to be sure that restaurants understand safe food preparation. The Manayunk Tomato is one of the few restaurants that has gone through a certification process.

Cheers,

Jon
