Wordless Wednesday - Pompeii Now

Pompeii

This lush lansdcape was buried in 79 AD when Mt Vesuvius (in back ground) erupted, dumping close to 100 feet of pyroclastic debris on the the entire city. Because the city was covered in ash, not lava, we're able to see so many details about this ancient sea side resort.

I just found out that a Pompeii movie is being released, next month. Seeing how those folks lived over 2000 years ago was mesmerizing. I could go back again and again!

I think that would be something worth seeing!

My wife wants to go to the beach (and I agree!), but she also wants to go to Scotland and Ireland. Other than that.....she isn't interested.

Teresa, what great pictures, and how great to be able to go to Italy and visit.  I have heard nothing but good things about Italy from people who have traveled there!

They say this is ready to do it again and so many people live nearby. Ready as in the next few million years...yikes.
