Not all commercial office leasing space is the same.
You can probably save yourself a lot of money by leasing a small satellite office space with an answering service for your business, but keep in mind that not all of these buildings are the same in looks, services, or price.
There are a lot of privately owned companies out there that are in this business and offering very low rents. If it works for you then it may be the way to go. Do not misunderstand this for a retail space with walking traffic. These are for the guy who want nothing more than a place to hang their hat and let people know that they are for real. Working out of your house does not really portray you as a working professional.
For my money in South Florida I recommend one of these three; Regus, Crexent, and Intelligentoffice. These are all very similar in what they offer, professionalism of the environment, and beauty of the buildings and offices. Essentially these companies offer you a space with access to a kitchen and conference room for a set price and then charge a la carte for adds ons like telephone line, internet access, or answering service. If entertaining a professional then this is probably the place you want them to come to.
Make sure to hire a realtor who is knowledgeable with commercial space to review all contracts with these companies though because they are quite different from residential. And for you realtors who have not dabbled in this field you might want to give it a shot because they all pay up to 10% commissions for bringing them customers and you do not even have to write the lease.
