Willingness to Accept Responsibility

“Character – the willingness to accept responsibility

for one’s own life – is the source from which

self – respect springs.”

Joan Didion, Author

As I see it . . . . . . .

Willingness to accept responsibility

No one likes to make a mistake . . . . encounter obstacles . . . . or to meet with a failure. In reality we all . . . . do.

Your time is better spent in finding solutions . . . . them in wasting time in trying to make excuses.

Conditions come and go through your life . . . . dealing with what has to be done and finding solutions is using your time productively.

Making excuses will take your eye off the ball . . . . It sends you down a slippery slope of misuse of your time without come up with an acceptable solution . . . . or making forward progress.

When you willing to accept responsibility  . . . . you take your bumps upfront. You’re able to put the conditions behind you by focusing on finding the solutions and moving forward.

The only way you can try to avoid obstacle and issues is by staying remaining in your comfort zone. That won’t resolve the condition or make it go away . . . . it makes things worst.

The willingness to accept responsibility . . . . is accepting the responsibility for your own success and for working through the difference conditions in encounter in your life.

Good morning, Lou. It is amazing how many folks see that shirk their responsibility and do not admit to making a mistake. To me, it is a sign of a weak person who lacks internal guidance.

Lou, the willingness to accept responsibility takes you out of your comfort zone. Once outside it is how you react that determines your success. Enjoy your day!

Thanks for a great reminder, Lou.  Having these small failures are to teach us, learn from them and do it better the next time.  Hiding from them and making excuses are just that, an excuse.

Lou- this is a great quote for our upcoming generations- I am seeing less and less of people taking responsibility for their actions.

Yes!  We all make mistakes, but how we handle them separates the "men from the boys."

GOOD MORNING LOU ... just "own it", make it right if it needs fixing and then move on - builds character and makes one a better person all around.
