Nope, not exciting at all

By

I'll admit it, my business card is nothing to get excited about.

Not glossy, nothing on the back, produced by an online printer for next to nothing.

It does, however, provide the holder with everything they need to know to contact me in the event that is necesary.  In the end, isn't this what a business card is supposed to do?

I will further admit that I suffer from "business card envy" sometimes when I am given one of those expensive, really cool looking cards.  Makes mine look like one of my kids cut out a rectangle and drew on it.  But do I immediately think to myself that I MUST do business with this person?  No, I don't.  Maybe I am wrong.

So the point of this post is simple...

What is the value of a business card?  And by value I mean that does value go up as quality of card goes up.

Am I, or anyone else for that matter, going to be judged on the quality of our cards?  Does it have anything at all to do with the quality of the service we provide?  Am I losing business because my card does not have people gasping for air when they look at it?

I'm looking for opinions here.  Please.

Rick
