BEST PLACES TO WATCH THE SUPERBOWL!!!

As we all know the Super Bowl is the biggest spectacle in American sports and in all of Americana.  It seems that most people will get together at a designated home and watch the game there.  However, if you want to get out and about and watch the big game at a sports bar here are my top three recommendations in the Annapolis area…

1.    All-American Steak House – With monster screens 360-degrees all around you, this place is appropriately referred to as a “sports theatre”.  I love watching college football here because of all the games you can see at one time!  But it is also great for the Super Bowl because no matter where you sit in the bar area, you can see a huge TV.   The place used to be called the Original Steakhouse but changed its name recently.  They have an extensive menu.  Don’t let the name fool you, there is much more to this place than great steaks, which they also have.  But seafood, chicken, salads, etc… are all on the menu for those that try to avoid red meat.   Ask about the drink specials as well, they usually have some pretty good ones.  You can visit them on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/pages/The-All-American-Steakhouse-Edgewater/137476879657139.  They are located on Mitchell’s Chance Road behind the K-Mart and Food Lion shopping center just a little further down the road.  

2.     Federal House Bar & Grille – Located in downtown Annapolis on Market Place in the historic district, Federal House is one of my all-time favorite places to watch a game or just hang-out with friends.  It doesn’t have the theatre of screens that All-American Steakhouse has, but there are plenty of plasma’s  or LED’s, whatever they are these days,  to see the game where ever you sit in the bar area.  Being a craft beer person, I love the selection of craft beers they keep on tap.  Try something different with each round!  Being located in the heart of the Annapolis downtown nightlife district, make sure you keep this on your list year round when you are bar hopping on any given night!  And when you get hungry, don’t worry, the food is much better than your typical bar food.  It is very good fare!  

3.     Just to hit a 3^rd area of town…  In the Annapolis Town Centre, Gordon Biersch is the best place to watch a game, especially thee game!   The bar area isn’t as big as Federal House or All-American, so don’t get there at game time!  Be early and get your bar-gating in before the game.  Being a brew pub, they also have excellent hand crafted beers brewed in-house in both regular pint size as well as tall boys.  My favorite this time of year is the Winter Bock.  But they are all very good.  Ask about the “Mug Club”.  Although more of chain type food, it is still very good as well.  The bartenders are very friendly and will help you pick out the beer that best fits you or what you are eating.  For you non-beer drinkers, all three of these places do have full service bars.
