National Rifle Association Sponsors Great American Outdoor Show in South Central PA

This year from February 1 through 9, the National Rifle Association heads up the Great American Outdoor Show replacing Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show. The show is billed as one of the nation’s largest sports and outdoors exhibition in the country, and will be held at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex, 2301 North Cameron Street, Harrisburg.
The Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show was cancelled last year after its promoter, Reed Exhibitions, banned the sale or display of assault rifles, and vendors threatened to boycott. Cancellation of the event was a loss for everyone. South Central Pennsylvania area and many businesses lost somewhere around $88 million dollars in revenue. Both sides should have been able to sit down and work out a solution, but they were unable to resolve their differences.
It is expected the region should make somewhat of a recovery this year in that over 1,000 exhibitors, ranging from shooting manufacturers to outfitters, to fishing boats, RVs and archery, will occupy 650,000 square feet of exhibit space. The event will keep the emphasis on camping and fishing, not hunting.
Guns will be sold at the show, but will not be able to be taken off premises. Buyers purchasing guns will have to get them shipped to a Federal Firearms License dealer near their home. The show will also have gun safety training and education. Youth hunting and shooting instruction is planned, as well.
Come enjoy the show, even if you’re two or three hundred miles away, it will be worth the drive!
This show is an affirmation of the Second Amendment to the Constitution, and sponsored by the National Rifle Association.
Admission: $12 adults, $10 seniors, $6 children. Adult two-day tickets: $20.
