The Art of Making a Vision Board and Redirecting Your Life

Until recently I had never heard of a vision board but have been a firm believer in the video “The Secret” where your mind can control your destiny.

The photo album laced with ribbon hanging on my office wall with pictures, shapes I adore, and images of cruise ships, titles or pictures of places I want to visit lastly and a picture of a baby (because I would like to be a grandmother) is a vision board even though I didn’t know it.
Do you take a piece of poster board, cork board or a hanging photo album and glue pictures of things like money or a job or whatever you want and then it automatically comes true? No, but placing items you love, your dreams, your total desires in the future and putting it on a board and focusing on it every time you walk into the room makes your desires stronger. The idea is that the vision board will guide your decisions based on your dreams and that your life is steered in that direction. This is a place where you hang things that will ‘make you happy’. Every day when you walk into that room and you see these images and words, you smile and think “Yes this is what I want to do”.

I had a picture of a bear hanging in my office for a couple of years and always wanted to go to Alaska. Then my friend said “Let’s all go on a cruise to Alaska” and I have now been twice. Perhaps I had mentioned Alaska to my friend but anyway I loved the state and enjoyed my trips there. Did the bear picture steer me there? Maybe! I would like to think so anyway.

Here is my latest Vision Board; a new couch, 16 new listings, a cruise to Hawaii, my daughter finally graduating, a new me after 3 months on my dieting, and just some images of things I love like bicycles, dragonflies, gardening butterflies, bees, birds, birdhouses, cupcakes (not on my diet), diet cokes, and flowers.
Try it and see if it helps direct your visions in a positive manner. I think you will be pleased and if you are still not sure, go get the dvd of “The Secret” and watch it as it is mind boggling.
Also you can make separate work or family vision boards or like me and just mix them on one board.
