Situated in east section of Hollywood, California is a world-class art gallery and recreaton center called The Barnsdall Art Park. Since 1946, the Barnsdall Art Park has hosted local and international art exhibits within its main facility, The Los Angeles Municipal Art Gallery.
The Barnsdall Art Park is also dedicated to providing studio art classes for beginning through advanced adult students. Some of the classes provided are painting, sculpture, jewelry, bookmaking, weaving, photography, ceramics and a myriad of other media in virtually every art form. Classes are also offered to children of all ages at The Junior Arts Center.
This historical park also offers fund-raising benefit events, such as Friday Night Wine Tasting, on the gated gardens of its West Lawn. This event features four selections of artisanal wines from around the globe. The proceeds from the wine tastings go to the Barnsdall Art Park Foundation programs and projects, such as free Sunday art classes for children and families in the community, as well as capital projects like the Monument Sign.
